How ICs are classified?

PCBWay

Answer: ICs are classified according to the number of components or gates in the case of digital ICs integrated on the same chip as follows:

  • Small scale integration (SSI) < 10 components.
  • Medium scale integration (MSI) < 100 components.
  • Large scale integration (LSI) > 100 components.
  • Very large scale integration (VSSI) > 1000 components.
